Khiva Design

Nanajon’s Khiva design refers to the architecture of the walls that once protected the Silk Road city of Khiva in Uzbekistan. The lines created by play of light and shade on the walls, almost like stripes, inspired the ones of this design.

Stripes hold a significant popularity in Uzbekistan and were woven to produce colourful and lively fabrics used in men’s coats, called chapan. The Khiva design draws inspiration both from architecture and traditional fabrics, infusing a modern touch with lighter stripes and the incorporation of delicate pomegranate motifs.
